Was recommended by my loctitian to see a dermatologist, so my primary doctor recommended this place to me since they take my insurance. I have to say that I was highly satisfied with my service! The beautiful Shayla was very knowledgeable and put me at ease with her recommendations as well. The instructions she gave me were clear and concise, so that really helped me. The assistants and staff were also very professional and helpful. There were smiles and laughter amongst the office as well which I think is very lovely to see, since being in any type of medical facility can be nerve-wracking for some at times. My son had this strange (and quite painful patch) in his ankle. We’d already been to the ER and to our family doctor with no results. We called around to every dermatologist in our area and nobody would see us. I decided to search outside of our area….I called Advanced Dermatology and explained our situation and they fit us in same day. We drove over an hour and we were seen promptly. PA Shayla has amazing bedside manner and handled my son with the utmost care. The assistant even said to make sure and verify my pharmacy, which I did, so she could send them to the proper location. It is a Friday. 🫤 This time #2 that this has happened. And, today I waited 30 minutes to be called back. I sat through about three rotations of patients being called back before I was called back to a room. I was on time, and paperwork was completed in advance. More

I came here to see PA Shayla Arceneaux due to horrible issues with my scalp. I was previously seeing another dermatologist and got no results. I felt so embarrassed and defeated dealing these issues. I expressed my concerns to her and she gave me treatment. Within days of treatment my scalp got so much better and now my hair in that area is growing back finally! It told one visit for her correct what my previous provider couldn’t do after several visits. I’m so grateful for her taking the time to listen to me and now I’m gaining my confidence back in myself. I was very pleased with the check in process and with PA Shayla Arceneaux! Though we don't have an exact diagnosis for my condition she was very professional and courteous and explained her suspicions and recommendations. My only concerning and negative experience was with the initial MA who called me to the exam room. She never once smiled even when calling another patient and while taking my history she stopped to comment that I needed to slow down and not be rude. I was anxious and in discomfort with my face burning and was just answering her questions which she seemed to take offense to. The conversation didn't go well after this and I requested to just be seen by the PA who was also kind enough to switch MAs as I was in tears. At the end, my visit with PA Shayla was calming and informative and I greatly appreciated the same day appointment. I really hope the office staff can give this MA a review of empathetic patient/client services and to be mindful that patients may already be in an emotional state due to a medical condition or extrinsic factors. There is no need for an MA or any medical staff to try and get confrontational with a patient while taking their history! If it wasn't for this experience I'd give them a 5. More

My experience was ok. There was an issue regarding my copay. My card said I had to pay $70, but they told me it was $80 (based on a verification they did with my insurance). The young lady at the front said you can pay the $70 since that's what my card said. She called someone, I'm assuming it was her manager, and she told her that I had to pay the $80. I told her I don't know why I would have to pay the $80 since my card said $70. She walked away to speak to someone, I'm assuming it was the same person she spoke to on the phone, she returned with an approval for me to pay the $70 and if I owed $10 a bill would be sent to me. The wait time was good. I think I waited for 3-5 minutes, if that. I appreciate having the opportunity to complete the new patient paperwork online. I was greeted by Amri, nurse, who seemed pleasant and nice. The P.A., Shayla, that I saw was nice and friendly. She focused on my visit and provided me with some background information on why I was experiencing discoloration on my face. She provided me with some free samples and said they would call my prescription in. Nurse Amri said they use a specialty pharmacy because the regular pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS, etc..) didn't cover them. She said the specialty pharmacy will call me, the day of my visit, to schedule when to deliver my prescription. Needless to say, no one called me. I'm assuming it was because it was Friday.....I don't know. I would have rated my experience higher, but I was "put off" by the urine sample that was on the counter, in PLAIN sight. The urine sample was NOT mine. I'm all about an overall first impression and cleanliness, especially in a health facility. For my first visit, as a referral from a friend, I'm not sure if I plan to return at all...even for my follow up visit. More

I found Advanced Dermatology by luck...I was seeking a dermatologist who could get me in immediately to discuss my hair loss...I called Advanced Dermatology after finding them online and was able to make my appointment for the very next day...ECSTATIC!!!!! I met with Dr. Shayla and she was very informative and passionate about proving me ALL of the pertinent information I needed to know about my hair loss and the process to grow some of it back...I highly recommend Advance Dermatology for your dermatology needs....They are very professional and they have a GREAT Playlist playing as you wait to be seen...I Enjoyed the music. My experience was ok. There was an issue regarding my copay. My card said I had to pay $70, but they told me it was $80 (based on a verification they did with my insurance). The young lady at the front said you can pay the $70 since that's what my card said. She called someone, I'm assuming it was her manager, and she told her that I had to pay the $80. I told her I don't know why I would have to pay the $80 since my card said $70. She walked away to speak to someone, I'm assuming it was the same person she spoke to on the phone, she returned with an approval for me to pay the $70 and if I owed $10 a bill would be sent to me.The wait time was good. I think I waited for 3-5 minutes, if that. I appreciate having the opportunity to complete the new patient paperwork online. I was greeted by Amri, nurse, who seemed pleasant and nice.The P.A., Shayla, that I saw was nice and friendly. She focused on my visit and provided me with some background information on why I was experiencing discoloration on my face. She provided me with some free samples and said they would call my prescription in. Nurse Amri said they use a specialty pharmacy because the regular pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS, etc..) didn't cover them. She said the specialty pharmacy will call me, the day of my visit, to schedule when to deliver my prescription. Needless to say, no one called me. I'm assuming it was because it was Friday.....I don't know.I would have rated my experience higher, but I was "put off" by the urine sample that was on the counter, in PLAIN sight. The urine sample was NOT mine. I'm all about an overall first impression and cleanliness, especially in a health facility. For my first visit, as a referral from a friend, I'm not sure if I plan to return at all...even for my follow up visit. More

This is long overdue. I had been struggling with adult acne for many years, it was very severe. I had seen a few other dermatologists and nothing worked. I met with Shayla who isn't even a dermatologist (just a physician's assistant) and I was skeptical. She prescribed several medications that when I went to fill were over $600 a month- nope! So I called back and it was changed to a topical antibiotic and suggested I use a specific OTC lotion and told me to quit EVERYTHING else ($30). I thought for sure it wouldn't work. I was wrong. My acne immediately stopped forming and the existing began to heal. About 6 months later I'd consider myself completely cured. I still get one or two rarely... but I can live with that. After it was cured she recommended an OTC gentle chemical peel- that has been working to heal the scars. The strange thing is I had tried antibiotics before and it didn't work. I guess this one plus the high quality SPF lotion just changed the game. Couldn't be happier. It was literally destroying my life now I don't even need to wear any foundation! More
