Surgical Dermatology Overview
The Advanced Dermatology Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery Department provides patients a range of surgical dermatology treatments such as skin cancer surgery, Mohs surgery, mole and lesion removal, benign excision procedures and scar revision. We have expert staff who are experienced in providing skin rejuvenation and repair any tissue that has been scarred or damaged using reconstructive surgery.
SKIN CANCER SURGERY
This procedure involves the removal or destruction of skin lesions using a wide range of techniques. Such a removal can range from a minor biopsy to an in-depth excision that will be closed with sutures or necessitate a reconstructive approach.
This surgical technique uses precision in order to treat cancers of the skin. During the procedure, dermatologists that perform the Mohs surgery will have thin layers of skin containing cancer removed progressively. Each layer will be examined until the remaining tissue is cancer-free.
