What are the Aesthetic Laser and Light Therapies?

The laser and light therapy treatments are applied in order to improve one’s appearance of dark spots, wrinkles, lines, broken capillaries, rosacea and redness. These are capable of stimulating the natural collagen production in the body too. The therapies work by creating streams of light that are concentrated enough to resurface skin. At Advanced Dermatology, you can expect a large selection of Houston’s best lasers and a team of trained technicians to go with them.

What can Light and Laser Therapy Treat?

  • Acne
  • Aging
  • Brown spots, hyperpigmentation and melasma
  • Facial redness, veins and vascular birthmarks
  • Laser hair removal
  • Scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Sun damage

The Fraxel laser treats your skin at a microscopic level leaving the surrounding area undamaged for maximum healing and minimal downtime with enhanced results over the following weeks and months. By treating each part separately instead of all at once, the thousands of microscopic laser columns can penetrate deep into the layers of skin to rebuild it from the inside out. These laser columns stimulate your body’s natural healing process to replace the damaged skin with youthful, smoother and healthier skin.

Clear + Brilliant Laser Treatment

Clear + Brilliant is a gentle treatment that uses fractional laser technology to address and prevent the early signs of aging skin. Clear + Brilliant works by creating millions of microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin, which replaces damaged skin with healthy tissue and yields younger looking skin.

The number of treatments is tailored to your concerns and skincare desires. In recent studies, consumers reported visible improvements after 4-6 treatments, though many patients choose to have routine treatments as part of their overall skin care regimen. Your skin care provider will discuss a personalized treatment regimen with you.
Clear + Brilliant treatments are great for women and men who are looking to prevent and fight the early signs of aging or maintain their youthful appearance.

IPL Photofacial (Intense Pulsed Light)

A gentle, non-invasive treatments that uses broad-spectrum light to effectively reduce redness and improve overall facial tone and texture. A variety of skin conditions, such as facial redness, rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, freckles and pigmented spots can be treated using intense pulsed light therapy. Skin improvement is seen after the first treatment; however, best results are achieved with multiple treatments. Typically a series of 3 or more treatments are recommended, depending on skin condition, and are usually spaced one month apart.

VBeam Perfecta

Is a gentle resurfacing laser performed on the face, neck, chest, arms or hands. It is a treatment that is similar but less aggressive than Fraxel.
VBeam Perfecta: a pulsed dye laser that delivers an intense but gentle burst of light into selectively targeted areas of the skin. Because of the precision that can be obtained with the laser, the VBeam Perfecta can be used to treat various skin conditions including unsightly facial veins, rosacea, acne, acne scars, hemangiomas, poikiloderma, sun spots, scars and stretch marks. This light is then absorbed by specific blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas in the dermis depending on the condition being treated.

Laser Hair Removal

Advanced Dermatology offers a triad of lasers that effectively and permanently removes unwanted hair from the legs, back, abdomen, neck, face, bikini, underarms and even ears. For men with chronic shave irritation, hair reduction on the neck and beard area can virtually eliminate the embarrassment of constant “red bumps” around the shirt collar. For women with darker hair above the lip or along the cheeks and jawline, laser hair removal can virtually eliminate this often inherited facial hair pattern leaving the skin smooth and stubble free.

Photodynamic Therapy (Red And Blue Light Therapy)

This is a medical procedure which uses light to treat sun damage, acne and precancerous skin lesions that are found on the hands, face or neck. This would often require multiple treatment sessions.
